Meet Sara Swan, LMT

Close-up of a woman with long, curly red hair and green eyes, outdoors with green foliage in the background.

Sara became interested in massage via 15 years as a runner and vegetable farmer. She is passionate about helping athletes and those whose jobs require feats of athleticism (and yes, that includes desk jobs: some tiny muscles really go above and beyond when we have to be on a computer!) She also loves helping parents in the prenatal and postnatal periods.

Knowing how intertwined our bodies and minds are, Sara creates a time and space where clients can relax and breathe while she works with tissue and the nervous system to encourage healing.

Sara trained in Abdominal Therapy, sometimes called Mayan Abdominal Massage, under Dr. Rosita Arvigo, who trained under the revered Don Elijio Panti and Miss Hortense Robinson.

She offers Swedish, Sports, Shiatsu, Abdominal and Pre-and Post-natal Massage. Whether you’re looking for help with a specific muscular issue or just a relaxing re-tuning, she’d love to work with you.

What kinds of massage are offered?

$120 for 1Hr | $175 for 90mins

Therapeutic Massage: Most similar to Swedish massage, Sara's unique blend of passive stretching, targeted trigger point work, hot stones, and soothing circulation-enhancing strokes. Each session is crafted around your individual needs.

Thai/Shiatsu: A combination of passive stretching, joint mobilizations and specific acupressure points developed over centuries in Thailand and in Japan. For these sessions, you will be clothed and on a comfy mat on the floor. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows your limbs full movement.

Prenatal Massage: Taking into consideration the specific safety needs of pregnancy, these sessions will aid your aches and pains while offering a quiet moment to connect with your own body and with the human you are growing!

Abdominal Massage: Also known as Mayan Abdominal Massage, Abdominal Therapy seeks to gently restore nerve, arterial, venous, energy and lymph flow in the abdominal cavity. As this is the core of the body, abdominal therapy can be helpful for everyone, and can be particularly useful for digestive or reproductive health. Check out the Abdominal Therapy Collective website to learn more.

Please book the 90 minute Initial Session ($150) for your first Abdominal Therapy session to allow time for a thorough intake. Subsequent sessions can be 60 or 90 minutes or can be incorporated into your regular massage.

This appointment is only for your first Abdominal Massage with Sara
