Holistic Resources Directory
Provided here is a free directory we’ve compiled of local healing arts practitioners and businesses in Northern Columbia County, NY and some surrounding MA areas.
In our view of healing arts we include a wide range of supportive therapies including nature based practices, farms, creative arts, and movement based services as well as alternative health centers and practitioners of alternative health.
We have not necessarily visited businesses and practitioners listed here, so we can not personally vouch for the quality of their craft.
If you’ve happened upon this page and don’t know who we are, Twin Wolves Healing Arts is an alternative health community that offers sauna, cold plunge, PEMF mat, red light therapy and halotherapy along with community events, workshops and classes as well as rooms rented out to practitioners of the healing arts. Head on over to our home page.

Mixing my love of dance & Pilates, I discovered the perfect fitness: Barre. After being a student, I went to Brooklyn to become certified in Barre Above. I’ve been teaching Barre (and occasionally burlesque) for a combined total of 8 years. I’ve seen the life changing results in both myself and my students.
There is nothing like Barre! And nothing like the twist and spin I put on it. I’ve got restorative barre classes, perfect for a beginner or those recuperating or just in need of a mellow juicy class.
Outdoor classes in the summer.
Brittany also offers Life Coaching.

I have cultivated skills and keen perception over a 20-year career that allow me to work with whatever you bring to the table, building on your strengths while revealing and challenging weaknesses. Using both the apparatus and mat work, we will dive deeply into the flow and nuances of Pilates to help you find and express your unique embodied form in movement and to develop a practice that meets you where you are.
As your awareness grows, you will learn to unravel physical tensions and restrictive mental patterns, developing the strength and resiliency to move with freedom and grace while resetting your body for optimal health, strength, and flexibility.
I am pleased to offer private sessions at my studio in Spencertown, NY, with expansive Catskill views in the fresh air and open sky of the Hudson Valley. I also offer mat classes and classes and mentoring for Pilates instructors.

Pilates Training - Classes and Private Sessions
Pilates [puh-LA-teez] is a system of exercises designed to utilize the body efficiently to attain a higher level of overall wellness. Regular practice results in greater flexibility, muscle lengthening and strengthening, and improved posture and balance. Particular emphasis is placed on training the muscles of the "Core" (abdominals, back muscles, buttocks, and inner thighs). Pilates is a full-body conditioning program that can be adapted to any age or fitness level. It is gentle enough for rehabilitation, yet challenging enough for the strongest of athletes. Regular Pilates practice helps form the foundation for sports-specific movement.

Rhythmical Einreibungen is one of the three principal Anthroposophic Nursing treatments. It gently enlivens, warms and nurtures the whole human being through the conscious application of qualities of touch and therapeutic oils. Developed by Dr. Ita Wegman in the 1920's in the Arlesheim Klinik, an Anthroposophic medical clinic she founded in Arlesheim, Switzerland. Rhythmical Einreibungen addresses directly the etheric and physical bodies of the human being; bringing renewal of the etheric body's inherent well-spring of life forces and supporting it's enlivening of the physical body. The higher members of the individual also respond to this treatment, renewing their interest to work through the bodily organization in a harmonious way. Overall, the effect is to support both unconscious life processes and consciousness. It is recognized that the patient receives the gift of Rhythmical Einreibungen and inwardly works with it in a way unique to individual needs. Rhythmical Massage Therapy as indicated by Dr. Ita Wegman working closely with Rudolf Steiner, is a gentle, harmonizing massage that helps awaken the self-healing forces within each individual to promote optimal health. Through specific massage movements on the body the Rhythmical Massage Therapist addresses the relationship between the body, soul and spirit by working with the life supporting forces of warmth, rhythm and breathing, the interplay of levity and gravity as well as center and periphery.
