The Tendai Buddhist Institute / Jiunzan Tendaiji, founded by Ven. Abbot Monshin Paul Naamon and Rev. Shumon Tamami Naamon in 1995. Tendai Buddhist Institute is a branch temple of Enryakuji Temple on Mt. Hiei, the administrative center of the Tendai School and the birthplace of Japanese Buddhism. As an officially recognized branch temple, Tendai Buddhist Institute is also the first fully authorized Tendai Buddhist training center for the education of priests and the establishment new Tendai Buddhist temples, dharma centers, and sanghas in North America and beyond.

Won Dharma Center is an open and culturally diverse community focused on cultivating mindfulness through meditation and training in spiritual practices.
Our kyomunims (Won Buddhist ministers) and staff offer retreats, meditation services, yoga and qigong classes, and special workshops for all, whether you are a serious practitioner or simply curious.
We invite groups and individuals to host events/retreats at our facility and enjoy our 426 acres of rolling hills and fields offering panoramic views of the majestic Catskill Mountains. We provide nutritious meals utilizing the freshest natural and local ingredients – some from our own organic gardens.
