Full Moon Lion’s Gate Portal

We’re currently in Leo season, the fiery season of the lion marked by boldness and confidence. The big astrological event of this month is the Lion’s Gate Portal. The Lion’s Gate Portal refers to a period of days (July 28 - August 12) before and after the peak event of the Full Moon, when the power of Sirius is believed to be activated by the Sun. On 8/8/25 (which is the Full Moon), the Sun, Sirius (the brightest start in the sky), Orion and Earth completely align with one another, this is considered the pinnacle of the Lion’s Gate Portal, also known as the Galactic New Year, an immensely powerful day for manifestations.

According to The Farmer’s Almanac,

Besides its brightness, ancient astrologers noted that Sirius seemed to take on characteristics of two fiery planets—Jupiter and Mars. In astrology, Jupiter is the planet of luck, miracles, expansion, and growth believed to bring forth prosperity, happiness, fortune, wealth, and wisdom. Mars is the planet of action, competition, conquest, passion, desire, and energy. With these powers combined, Sirius became known as particularly auspicious. This is why taking action while it is in aligned is thought to help one achieve their goals, imbued with the luck of Jupiter and the courage of Mars.

The Lion’s Gate portal is a bringer of abundance and the new, it is a time to shed that which is not serving you and to move forward into your truest, highest self.

On 8/8 we will be hosting a Full Moon Fire, it a free event, we encourage you to attend and bring along an offering to the fire - something that symbolizes that which you want to be free of or that which you want to call in. We will have light snacks and would encourage some potluck style offerings. The outdoor plunge will be available for use by donation.
